The Dithering Experiments is an interactive art installation that mirrors its viewer through the use of digital image processing techniques. By navigating different modes via keyboard, the spectator can explore the captivating world of computer vision and experience the creative possibilities of computational imaging.
The Dithering Experiments is an interactive showcase of our exploration into dithering and digital image processing. Our final project highlights the various image alterations we experimented with through code while embracing the constraints of the 32Ă—32 pixel LED matrix. Using keyboard and mouse controls, we played with image manipulation and pushed the limits of the matrix to see what was possible.
This experiment could evolve in many directions—an exhibition piece, an interactive art installation, a cool advertisement object, or even a guessing game (which we actually considered at one point). There are so many possibilities, but for now, with the webcam, keyboard, and mouse interaction, we just want to share the fun we had while experimenting. This project lets you compare different effects and interact with video manipulation in a hands-on way.
